Learning balance and motor skills is paramount for growth in children. In order to encourage your child to develop better balance, you can participate in riding bicycles, scooters, using stilts, pogo sticks, roller skating, skate boards, tumbling stunts on carpet, jumping on old mattress springs, and more .
Participating in these activities with your student will help with bonding, help the student feel secure and aid with better health.
Eye - Foot Coordination Activities
As with all education, growth should continue at home during after school hours and during weekends. Some activities can promote better learning skills as well as grow motor skills.
Jumping rope
Kicking balls
Climbing stairs, ladders, etc.
Walking on masking tape lines, ropes, etc.
Jumping and hopping into obstacles (old bike tires, etc.)
Hopscotch
Stepping over objects of various heights (boxes, cans, etc.)
Stepping on footprint pattern cut from cardboard or craft paper
Try Locomotive Activities
Moving is important! For movement activities, consider moving to music using records, crawling and/or creeping on carpet, rope jumping, jumping from objects, hopping and/or jumping into tires, and hoops, skipping, galloping challenges, and running short races and around obstacles.
